ENGLISH 4, POST 3: MOVIES AND/OR SERIES THAT YOU WOULD RECOMMEND
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Hi teacher: I feel this is a series to recommend, to contextualize it is an American animated horror comedy series created and directed by John R. Dilworth, produced by Stretch Films and broadcast by Cartoon Network. Director. John R. Dilworth created and directed by
The main characters of him are:
Courage: he is a dog of an unknown breed of pink color. He has a large snout, small slender legs, black spots on the sides, and black ears. He has the ability to walk on both four and two legs, although most of the time he is seen on two legs. He has a sixth sense, and it is that when the owners of him (especially Muriel), they are in danger, Courage, although scary, takes a risk, to save them. Also, he loves being with his owner Muriel, who adopted him when he was an abandoned puppy.
Muriel Baj: Muriel is a sweet and adorable old peasant woman who lives in her old cabin with her husband, Don Justo Bolsa, and her pet. Muriel, is of Scottish descent, and likes to cook new things. She also loves knitting, and drinking a good cup of tea. When she was little, she was spoiled and heavy, to the point of being unbearable. She always remarks her pronunciation of her R, which indicates her Scottish accent.
Don Justo Bolsa: Contrary to the cheerful and kind character of his wife Muriel, Don Justo Bolsa is an elderly, moody, rude, unfriendly, and above all very ambitious farmer. He has always been cruel to Courage, since he came home. His favorite pastime is sitting in his red chair, who loves him very much, reading the newspaper or watching TV, or scaring Courage with a green mask.
The story is about a dog named Courage and the owners of him: Muriel, an old Scottish woman, and Justo, a grumpy old farmer. This dog lives to save the lives of creepy monsters, aliens and other mythical creatures.
I like this series, because despite being a children's series, it shows relevant topics, such as gender violence, sexual diversity, and always leaves us with a teaching that it is best to face fears, and that many times behind them , many fears are hidden with ourselves, and our insecurities, but that invite us to accept ourselves and that behind the appearance of people or monsters insecurities are also hidden and sometimes only with understanding they open up internally and end up being good at heart . Being then a good series to recommend given the aforementioned and because of how entertaining it is, having in constant suspense who is a spectator of this series, and that with hints of black humor will also make you laugh.
Regards!
